From my background, education and experience as a Social Worker, I was drawn into Wellness Coaching in 2012. Working for many years with children and families, I continually saw trends in lifestyle habits: lack of exercise, inconsistent eating habits, high levels of stress, increasing frequency of illnesses, and the development of serious health issues. Unfortunately, I often watched as many people tried to fit round pegs in square holes--trying to change habits that just didn't gel with their real lifestyle. I felt there had to be a better way of helping people connect healthy lifestyle habits with personal goals and interests.
Health and Wellness Coaching was the pathway to engaging people in discussions about health and wellness. Listening to my clients, I heard their underlying interests in health combined with overwhelming feelings of frustration on how to make it all happen. Health and Wellness Coaching has since become my way to engage clients in meaningful conversations to help them move from frustration toward the lifestyle they envision.
